Students from Stretford High School will be addressing EU Commissioners in Copenhagen at the closing event of European E-Skills Week.
The school’s Student Digital Leaders – two Year 11 students – will accompany Mr Stucke, Assistant Headteacher, to offer their expertise on a panel discussion on the topic of ‘Digital Education of the Future’.
Mr Stucke, Assistant Headteacher said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for our young learners to explain what Digital Leaders do to the European Commissioners and Industry, not to mention enjoy a visit to Copenhagen”
Bob Harrison, Education Adviser at Toshiba, added, ”Of all the things I have done in over 40 years in Education the Digital Leaders initiative stands out.
“I am proud of the work of the growing network of Digital Leaders and I am sure the Stretford High pupils will do a great job representing the whole Digital Leaders movement”
The students have been active members of the Digital Leaders programme, supported by Toshiba, teaching staff and students alike how to use technology to support their learning. Stretford High was one of the pilot schools of the project along with Kristian Still at Hamble College, Southampton.
Mr Haseldine, Headteacher said, “We are very proud that students from Stretford, Greater Manchester are able to represent the young people of the United Kingdom at this prestigious event.
“Our young people are crucially aware that to become an expert in any field will take more than 15,000 hours of hard work and dedication, just see Bill Gates tremendous efforts. To that end our students are perfectly poised as leaders of tomorrow.”
