Artist In Residence

February 23, 2011 in Art Showcase, Broadening Horizons, School News by Andy Hill

Kate Bufton visits SHS to begin her artist in residence role until June – welcome Kate.

Kate is from Salford University.

Her major work is in ‘book transformations’-3D sculptures which she creates from old books. These are amazing in that although they have been ‘sculpted into various shapes, it is still possible to read them.

She will be in school every Wednesday, based in the studio most of the time, working with students and staff from the Art Department and the English Department.

More examples of her work and exhibitions can be found on the internet.
